Jyoti grew up in deep poverty. After losing her father at a young age, it was just her and her mother, who worked as a daily wage laborer to survive. Relatives who should have helped disappeared, and the family was left without support—or even their rightful share of property.
Yet even in hardship, Jyoti carried something rare: a hunger to learn.
When we launched our first Unplugged Hub computer center, she was the very first student to enroll. Though she had no means to afford education, she refused to give up. She quickly became one of the top students—disciplined, eager, and determined. During this time, she also encountered Christ. Through the care and guidance of her teacher, Magdaline, Jyoti began following Jesus with sincerity and growing faith.
I still remember visiting her home—there was no electricity. Her house was in darkness, much like her circumstances. But step by step, as she learned computers and English, her confidence grew and hope began to shine.
When we opened our second Unplugged Hub, we needed a teacher. Jyoti came to mind. Though the responsibility was new and challenging, she persevered. Today, she leads one of our centers, teaching others with patience, skill, and faith. She is no longer just a student—she is now raising up others.
She is truly our own fruit—someone who was trained though Global Helps’ ministry and is now helping others grow.
Along the way, we were also able to help bring electricity to her home, improving life for her and her mother.
Jyoti’s story is a powerful testimony: a young woman who refused to surrender to darkness and is now a light to others. We thank God for her life and pray she will continue to grow, shine, and impact many more in the days ahead.
Would you consider walking alongside Jyoti as she helps others step out of the darkness she once experienced?
