This is where I want to share some of the opportunities, urgent needs, and big dreams that are currently occupying my thoughts—and occasionally keeping me awake at night.
Missions and charitable giving have changed dramatically during our more than three decades in ministry.
When we started (in 1993), we had lots of friends giving $25 a month. Everyone did a little, and together we got the job done.
Today, giving looks different. Many of our friends prefer to respond to specific projects and immediate needs, and a relatively small number of generous partners often step forward to do much of the heavy lifting.
That makes budgeting interesting!
Sometimes an opportunity develops quickly, and we have to move before all the funding is in place. Amazingly, some of our largest gifts have come after our shortest conversations—occasionally during the very first time I have shared the need.
It can be a wild ride, but after all these years, I continue to be amazed at how God provides through people who simply say:
“Tell me what you need.”
So, here we are in 2026, and this is one of the needs that has my mind spinning right now.
RN Scholarship Fund – Northern India
Helping a young woman become a Registered Nurse can change much more than one life.
We work among some of the poorest families in northern India, including families of migrant agricultural workers who may earn only about $45 a month—even with the entire family working together.
For a young woman growing up in these circumstances, becoming an RN can seem like an impossible dream.
We are helping make that dream possible.
Our students follow a demanding pathway. Before receiving a nursing scholarship, each young woman must:
- Finish high school.
- Complete our six-month Computer Skills Training Course.
- Strengthen her English-language skills.
- Serve as an intern with our Community Health Worker program.
- Qualify for admission to an approved nursing university or hospital.
Once she is accepted, we help provide the tuition and educational expenses that her family simply cannot afford.
After three years of professional nursing education, she graduates with a recognized RN Degree, serves for a year giving back in underserved communities, and enters a profession where trained nurses are in high demand.
This isn’t simply paying someone’s tuition.
It is helping a young woman break the cycle of poverty, gain a respected profession, serve her community, and change the future of her family.
Our Immediate Need: $7,500
We currently have three students continuing their university nursing education, with three more entering this month.
Five of these six young women will need financial assistance.
Their annual tuition payments are due in late August or early September, and we anticipate needing approximately $7,500 to help cover tuition, books, meals, and travel for the coming year.
That is the need in front of us—right now.
You might give $500 or $1,000, or perhaps God has blessed you with the ability to simply say:
“Mic, I’ve got this. I’ll cover this year’s tuition and fees for these five nursing students in India.”
Whatever the amount, you become part of her story.
