In early April, we introduced you to Jyoti, a young woman whose life God has already transformed in remarkable ways. And He’s not done with her yet!
Jyoti lost her father at a young age, leaving her and her mother in extreme poverty with little support. When she was old enough, Jyoti joined one of our tailoring schools, where she learned skills that helped provide for her family. Later, when GHN opened its first computer training class, she was the very first student to sign up.
Over the following year, Jyoti watched her teachers not only teach computer skills but also model what it means to follow Christ. Through their example and encouragement, she chose to become a follower of Jesus. Her mother soon made the same decision.
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Jyoti continued to grow in both her faith and her education. A few years ago, she became the teacher at the computer school she had once attended. As a teacher, she demonstrated both a strong aptitude for learning and a deep empathy for her students, helping many of them experience their own financial and spiritual transformations.
And now, her life is expanding once again.
At the encouragement of our in-country project manager, Jyoti took the college entrance examination—and passed! Later this month, she will begin pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree through GHN’s healthcare scholarship program, with the goal of becoming a pharmacist.
When she graduates, Jyoti will be qualified for a professional career that can provide financial stability for herself and her mother. Even more exciting, she will become a valuable resource for GHN’s Community Health Worker program, using her education and experience to help bring healthcare and hope to others.
God has brought Jyoti a long way—from a young woman struggling to survive to a teacher who helps others grow. Now He is opening another door, and we can’t wait to see where He leads her next.
