Pushpa comes from a tribal community in Madhya Pradesh and is married with two sons. Her husband, a faithful pastor, has served the Lord for many years through an independent church ministry in their village. However, increasing opposition last year forced the church to close, resulting in the loss of many congregants and significantly reducing the family’s income. Despite these challenges, he continues to serve the Lord faithfully under difficult circumstances.
Rather than giving in to discouragement, Pushpa took a courageous step forward. In 2024, she enrolled in the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program at Shri Chaitanya College of Nursing Science. She is now in her second year of training. Through the generous support of GHN, Pushpa successfully completed her first year and has been able to continue her studies. This assistance has provided not only educational opportunity but also hope and stability for her family during a particularly difficult season.
Pushpa is already using her training to serve others. During college breaks and holidays, she joins our ministry teams as they visit villages and slum communities where healthcare access is extremely limited. There, she helps provide basic medical screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and temperature checks. She also educates families about health, hygiene, and disease prevention, while offering care and guidance to pregnant women, mothers, and young children.
In many of these communities, access to even the most basic healthcare services is scarce. Pushpa’s growing medical knowledge is helping meet real physical needs while bringing encouragement and compassion to vulnerable families. Through her caring presence, she has built trust within communities and created opportunities for meaningful relationships and ongoing ministry.
What is particularly inspiring is that Pushpa is not waiting until graduation to make an impact. Even as a student, she is already serving some of the most overlooked communities in the region. Her willingness to learn, serve, and care for others reflects both her commitment to Christ and her desire to be a blessing to those in need.
We believe that investing in Pushpa’s training will have a lasting impact. As she continues to develop her skills, she will be equipped to serve countless individuals and families who have little access to healthcare. Her education is not only helping support her own family but is also preparing her to become a vital resource in rural communities where trained healthcare workers are desperately needed.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and partnership. Through your support, individuals like Pushpa are becoming agents of hope, healing, and transformation in communities that need it most.
