Global Helps is launching a whole new vehicle donation and repair program that has the benefit of helping people here at home with job skills while at the same time providing valuable funding for our projects in India.
For donated Hybrids that have a dead or dying battery, and are otherwise candidates for a “ReSpark”, we will remove the current battery, purchase a new compatible replacement battery, install & upgrade the battery and resell the vehicle. We’ve already had a positive response from dealerships who want to refer customers bringing in Hybrids for trade-in to us and already have a group ready to begin work on the cars.
We use the process of “ReSparking” as training and mentoring to help people learn a new skill while donating their time and talents to our ministry. The proceeds will be used to support our work both here and abroad. Every “ReSparked” hybrid can be deducted from the donee’s tax return at the full resale value of the vehicle after repairs, which is often a substantially greater tax benefit.
