Introducing Kandhal, another of our Nursing School Scholars whose life is being transformed through our training programs.

Kandhal’s journey is a remarkable story of resilience, faith, and hope. After completing her 12th-grade education, she joined our tailoring training program in Madhya Pradesh. During her time with us, she not only became highly skilled in tailoring but also experienced a life-changing encounter with the love of Jesus. Moved by this new-found faith, Kandhal committed her life to follow Him, and her mother soon followed, embracing Christ and is now walking faithfully in her own journey of faith.
Kandhal quickly stood out as one of the best students in our program, known for her dedication, perseverance, and joyful spirit—even in the face of adversity.

She comes from a very modest background. The young woman’s family is from the Ahirwar caste in Madhya Pradesh. Her mother works as an agricultural laborer, and her father, though employed as a daily wage worker, sadly spends most of his earnings on alcohol. This has left the family in constant financial struggle. Despite these challenges, Kandhal and her mother labor together in the fields to provide for her three younger siblings.
Though her dream was to pursue higher education, poverty seemed like an immovable obstacle. But with courage and determination—and the encouragement of the tailoring school teacher—Kandhal applied for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course and was selected. Refusing to let financial barriers stop her, she took a bold step of faith and borrowed the funds needed to pay her first-year fees.
Kandhal’s story is a shining example of how hope can rise from hardship, and how faith and perseverance can open doors to a brighter future—not just for herself, but for her entire family.
