Computer literacy and English language training can make a significant difference in the lives of young women. Computers have the potential to transform their lives by putting an end to their marginalization. It is our hope to provide these young women with free basic computer training as well as English language training, which will be critical in increasing their chances of finding a respectable livelihood and remove barriers to higher education. This training will help them feel like they are a part of the mainstream global youth, and it will also give them a sense of empowerment.
Underprivileged youths from slums and villages have a strong desire for computer training. However, due to persistent financial constraints they have been unable to reap the benefits of computer literacy. Our project provides computer training to youth in Microsoft Office, Internet browsing and other related programs, as well as English language training, in order to assist them in finding better paying jobs and living a life of dignity. Those who demonstrate potential will be given training in data entry and accounting in the future.
Global Helps Network has trained 19 girls from marginalized communities through a 7-month program in Basic Computer Training & English language learning. We awarded them with certificates on January 29th. We are helping them learn technical skills, but are also helping them find meaning in life through counselling them and praying over them. We thank you for standing with us in transforming many young lives.
