Sangita comes from an extremely underprivileged background. She was the sole breadwinner for her family, caring for her aging parents while working at a small company in Kathmandu. However, in March 2025, her life took a devastating turn when she lost her job. The company chose to replace her with someone more qualified—someone with basic English proficiency and computer skills, which Sangita did not yet have.
With no income and growing responsibilities, Sangita faced overwhelming hardship. Despair set in, and she fell into depression, unsure of how to move forward. It was during this difficult season that she met one of our dedicated teachers, who encouraged her with prayer, support, and a vision for a new beginning. He invited her to join the free computer and spoken English training provided by GHN in partnership with Rotary International.
At first, Sangita hesitated. “How much will it cost?” she asked, burdened by financial worries. When our teacher assured her that the program was completely free, she was overjoyed and quickly enrolled. Determined to rebuild her life, she immersed herself in the training—learning spoken English, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication.
As the weeks passed, Sangita’s confidence grew. For the first time, she believed she could compete in today’s workforce. Encouraged by her progress, she boldly approached her former employer and shared her newly developed skills. Impressed by her dedication and growth, he invited her for another interview in October 2025.
And then, something remarkable happened.
Sangita not only regained her former position—she was rehired at a significantly higher salary.
Today, Sangita is filled with gratitude—to God and to GHN, whose training made this transformation possible. She has regained her livelihood, restored her confidence, and is once again able to provide for her parents. Her journey is a powerful testimony of transformation—from hopelessness to empowerment, from jobless to thriving. Her employer, too, is delighted with her growth, skill, and dedication.
