What difference can just one scholarship really make?
Eight years ago, Ranjeeta and her family came to faith in Christ through a visiting pastor in their small village near Lucknow. From that moment, her life began to change. She and her sister grew strong in their faith, and through their witness, even their parents became believers. Only their brother has yet to follow Christ, and the family continues to pray for him.
Ranjeeta always felt a deep desire to serve others. After completing a six-month training with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), she sensed a calling to healthcare. When she was accepted into the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program at Nova Institute in Lucknow, it felt like a dream—but the journey proved difficult. She was the only student from a lower-caste background in a class largely made up of high-caste students. At times she faced discrimination and felt she did not belong. Still, she refused to give up. With faith in God and determination, she pressed on even as her parents—daily wage laborers—struggled to pay her fees, borrowing money just to keep her in school.
Then support came through the GHN/Rotary RN Scholarship. Because of this generosity, Ranjeeta was able to complete her studies. Today we are thrilled to share that she graduated from the GNM program with 444 out of 600 marks and has completed training in midwifery, community health nursing, nursing education, research, and nursing administration. She is now working as a nurse in a hospital while waiting for her official certificate, expected later in 2026. Currently earning about INR 18,000 per month (around $200*), her salary is expected to nearly double once her certification is issued. Ranjeeta is the first person in her village to earn a professional nursing degree and secure a hospital job—bringing pride, dignity, and new hope to her family and community.
Ranjeeta says with emotion, “It feels like I have achieved something. It feels like I am someone.”
This is what your investment can do in one life:
You did not just pay tuition fees. – You restored dignity.
You did not just support a struggling student – You broke social barriers.
You did not just assist an individual – You strengthened a family.
You did not just help one young woman – You inspired a village.
Ranjeeta’s story is a real and living testimony of transformation through the RN Scholarship program. And there are many more young women like her — capable, determined, and waiting for an opportunity.
We humbly invite you to continue supporting this mission so that we can transform many more lives like Ranjeeta’s and bring smiles to the faces of students and their parents who are longing for hope.
Thank you for believing in students like Ranjeeta.
Thank you for investing in transformation.
Please continue to pray and partner with us as we seek to change lives — just one scholarship at a time.
*In India, $200 per month is competitive for an entry level professional. Ranjeeta’s parents likely earn $35-50 per month.
